The Ninth Doctor Showcase

This week we are taking a closer look at the Ninth Doctor.

“Do you know like we were saying? About the Earth revolving? It's like when you're a kid. The first time they tell you that the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it 'cos everything looks like it's standing still. I can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at 1,000 miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go... That's who I am.”

The Ninth Doctor was the spark that brought back Doctor Who. I remember when it came back on TV, it was an amazing year. The Ninth Doctor breathed new life into the show and for that he will forever hold a special place in every whovian’s hearts. There was so much love put into the new series and as fans we found ourselves once again traveling in the TARDIS and having adventures with the Doctor. Who could ask for more?

 Ninth Doctor's Model

When making the Ninth Doctor I decided that he would let you change a green die to Running, I felt that was perfect for the Doctor who seemed to be running from his past. The Doctor whos first request to Rose was to run. That’s how I always pictured him, running with rose down corridors. Being able to change a die on a Doctor is quite powerful and Running is a common symbol in the game. “Seriously, there’s an outrageous amount of running involved.”

“Right then. I’ll be off. Unless, ah, I don’t know, you could come with me. This box isn’t just a London Hoppa, you know. It goes anywhere in the Universe, free of charge.”

In the game Rose is a powerful companion, she has great in game stats but her ability can give a player a massive advantage in a single Adventure, for a cost, this reflects her Bad Wolf moment stopping the Daleks and saving her Doctor. It was such a moving part of the series, and I felt it must be reflected in the game.
