Dalek Showcase

This week we are taking a closer look at the Daleks.

“I have waited a long time for this. Once the Doctor is exterminated, I shall build a new race of Daleks. They will be even more deadly and I, Davros, shall be their leader! This time we shall triumph. My Daleks shall once more become the supreme beings!”

In Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks, Davros has infiltrated the Matrix on Gallifrey, mapping out the Doctor’s timeline and devising the best way to wipe him from history.

Dalek Markers

Dalek markers are placed on a Location if a Doctor fails a challenge and making it harder to complete the challenge in future.

 Davros Marker

The Davros marker is the sixth Dalek marker. Place him last to remind players that all the Dalek markers are in play.

Exterminate Dice

After discarding down to eight dice, The Doctor must Exterminate (discard) a further die for each Dalek marker at the Doctor’s current Location (regardless of which Time Zone the Dalek marker is in).
As an exception to this, if The Doctor is on Earth, only Daleks in the same Time Zone as The Doctor Exterminate dice from his Dice Pool.

“They cannot escape! Our time machine will soon follow them! They will be exterminated! Exterminated! Exterminated!”

The Sixth Dalek Marker

The sixth and final Dalek marker is Davros, the creator of the Daleks. Once he has been placed, the Time of the Daleks is at hand.
If you are ever required to place a seventh Dalek marker for any reason, the Time of the Daleks has arrived. The Daleks conquer the universe and the game ends immediately.

All Praise Davros, Creator of the Daleks

Exterminate! They muttered about their sacred hatred, the On-Coming Storm. Their Creator has as plan… A plan to erase the Doctor from Web of Time itself. That's right this week we are talking Daleks.

Fourth Doctor Showcase

This week we are taking a closer look at the Fourth Doctor.

“You may be a doctor. But I'm THE Doctor. The definite article, you might say.”

When talking about classic Doctor Who, it’s hard to not talk about Tom Baker, the Fourth Doctor. From his long scarf to his ever ready bag of Jelly Babies, the Fourth Doctor is one of the most iconic Doctors of all time.

The Fourth Doctor has some amazing companions, starting off with Sarah Jane Smith, one of the most Iconic companions of all time. Sarah was fantastic, for me she will always be the companion to whom I compare other companions. Romina is another companion that I loved growing up, the fact that she was a Timelord, or should I say Timelady, was awesome, but I most like the fact that she was incredibly clever and in most cases more clever then the Doctor.

“Would you care for a Jelly Baby?”
In the game the Fourth Doctor himself has some great dice control, being able to always re-roll any one of the coloured dice makes him flexible in any of his Adventures.

The Fourth Doctor starts off with Sarah Jane Smith. Sarah gives you a lot of good green dice options. She also gains you an extra Timey-Wimey card at the start of each turn, though you only get to draw the card if you are with the Third or Fourth Doctors.

One of the many Timey-Wimey cards in the game is K-9, and I have to say he is one of my favourites. As long as you have a Sonic Charge token to “power” K-9, he can add a die of any colour to your pool.

Not Just Time Lords. We're the Same Time Lord

The Eleventh Doctor Showcase

This week we are taking a closer look at the Eleventh Doctor.

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. Hey, the good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”

The Eleventh Doctor may not be the only Doctor to wear a bow tie, but he is definitely the Doctor that made it iconic. Of course, there is more to this Time Lord than a cracking bow tie. His great quotes and amazing episodes prove from day one that the Eleventh Doctor is indeed a madman in a box.

The Eleventh Doctor has had some amazing companions during his regeneration: Amy Pond, the girl who waited; Rory Williams, the boy who waited even longer; River Song, his killer or his wife; and Clara Oswald, the impossible girl.

"The universe is big, it’s vast and complicated, and ridiculous. And sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles. And that’s the theory. Nine hundred years, never seen one yet, but this would do me."

The Eleventh Doctor starts the game with Amy Pond. Because Amy is linked to Rory, he can easily join the Eleventh Doctor's TARDIS. The Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory create a dynamic team that can automatically get some tough symbols. Between them they get plenty of Blue and Green dice. They don’t have much access to Red dice, though, so grabbing a red-focused companion like River Song or the Brigadier would be very useful.

Like all of the Doctors, the Eleventh Doctor has a powerful unique ability. His makes equipment cards cheaper to play. This comes in very handy in the first part of the game when the Doctors are trying to gather the resources they need to complete adventures and stop the Daleks.
